Bass-Baritone Tristan Hambleton studies on the Opera Course at the Royal Academy of Music under Glenville Hargreaves and Audrey Hyland. An alumnus of St John’s College Cambridge, where he studied History of Art, Tristan took a scholarship to Heidelberg Universität where he pursued studies in Music and German.
In recent years Tristan has been establishing himself as a recitalist and concert singer appearing with orchestras such as The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, The Hallé, Devon Baroque, The London Mozart Players, Camerata Viva Tübingen, St John’s Sinfonia and at venues such as Wigmore Hall, Heidelberg’s Alte Aula, Cadogan Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Tristan is generously supported by the ABRSM and the Josephine Baker Trust.
Recent and future events include the role of Meistersinger Hermann Ortel in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg with the Hallé under Sir Mark Elder at the Bridgewater Hall, the roles of Cadmus, Priest and Somnus for Jackdaw’s production of Handel’s Semele, the title role in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro for Hampstead Garden Opera and Il Re di Scozia in Handel’s Ariodante for Royal Academy Opera.
